Flute Most grade school through high school students prefer to learn classical (silver) flute, with an emphasis on preparing them to play in their school band. Adult students are welcome, too! All students learn proper tone production and fingering technique, as well as standard flute repertoire. We dabble in playing by ear, playing non-classical music, and composing, as well.

Irish Flute and Tin Whistle These instruments can be incorporated into regular flute lessons, or taught separately. Learn to play tunes and sit in on your local Irish session!

Celtic Harp The traditional method of learning the Celtic harp is by example, not by reading music. Students learn fingering techniques and how to apply them to songs and tunes by watching the teacher. That approach results in a wonderful lack of dependence on the printed music. However, music reading is a useful skill, and we can tailor the lessons to the approach you prefer. It's usually a good idea to rent a harp, instead of buying one, at least for the first few months. That way, you can test the waters a bit before committing to owning. I have several harps available for rent and will help you to buy your own harp when the time comes.
